Mandarins Imperial
Imperials are the most popular variety of mandarin, as they are easy to peel, have few seeds, and an excellent sweet flavour. Mandarins are smaller than oranges and taste is considered sweeter, stronger and less sour. Mandarins are usually eaten plain, but are delicious in a fruit salad. A ripe mandarin is firm to slightly soft, heavy for its size and pebbly-skinned. They're a good source of vitamin C and a useful source of dietary fibre. Best stored at an ambient temperature.
